After months of speculation, the full cast line-up for Quentin Tarantino’s next pic, The Hateful Eight, has officially been announced. Following Deadline’s breaking news this morning, which suggested Channing Tatum was circling a part in the western, The Weinstein Company delivered a press release to verify the rumours.

And then there was 2012’s Lincoln, Spielberg’s hushed, reverent study of the Great Emancipator. The subject of Bridge of Spies, James Donovan, was perhaps a more minor hero than those two Great Men, but what he managed to do in late 1950s East Berlin was still pretty film worthy.

It’s a story that Spielberg and his screenwriters—Matt Charman, Joel and Ethan Coen—tell with a solid sense of purpose, even if the film doesn’t quite hit the emotional beats it’s aiming for.
